New making. Instruments are made to the highest standards, according to the principles of the classical Italian makers. As with cooking the creation of a great master instrument is not a matter of luck. With top materials and understanding of the work methods of the great Italian masters, new masterpieces come into being.
Research into the working methods of the great classical Italian makers. A proud contributor to The Strad magazine I have written a number of articles. You will find them in the 'Articles' section.
Sound adjustments. A specialty. Many instruments can be improved with small changes in the setup. Before doing anything to the instrument, I discuss with the owner to get a complete understanding of their wants. Based on more than thirty years of working experience, I can often suggest improvements.
From time to time I help clients to buy and sell their fine violins, violas, cellos and bows.
